Date: 26 May 2025 The European Union project, led by Istanbul Beykent University, has been approved by the EIT Higher Education Initiative. The European Union-funded project, which was prepared with the cooperation of eight universities from seven different countries and in which Istanbul Beykent University is an executive partner, was approved and accepted by the EIT Higher Education Initiative. Supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the GreenTech4Transformation (GT4T) project aimed to position universities as leaders in sustainable innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact. The project, in which Istanbul Beykent University also plays an executive role, aims to contribute to Europe’s green and digital future through advanced technology applications and entrepreneurship training in strategic areas such as the circular economy, digital transformation, and energy transition. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach that brings together university researchers, student innovators, and startup ecosystems, the project aimed to enhance inter-university collaboration through the development of learning programmes focused on real-world challenges. In addition, tailored programmes were developed for emerging professionals aged 17–25 and experienced professionals over 55, offering diverse perspectives and promoting inclusive participation. The GT4T project, which brought together universities from various countries, included the following partners: Satakunnan Ammattikorkeakoulu (coordinator) and Ikigaia Oy from Finland; Istanbul Beykent University from Türkiye; Windesheim University of Applied Sciences from the Netherlands; Technische Hochschule Rosenheim and Wild Campus GmbH from Germany; and Griffith College and Dublin Business Innovation Centre Limited LBG from Ireland. The first phase of the two-stage project is scheduled to take place between 1 April 2025 and 31 December 2025. The second phase is planned to be completed between 1 January 2026 and 30 April 2027.
